Paree's International Group

Paree's International Group is a female acapella choir that have been singing Sri Chinmoy's songs in an atmosphere of heavenly stillness for over 20 years.

The group was founded by Sri Chinmoy in 1987 - it's members were then children, led by  Paree Atkin from New York, who were personally taught by Sri Chinmoy in the art of soulful singing. Sri Chinmoy would often compose songs and then teach them to the group in the same sitting. In addition, they would often perform during Sri Chinmoy's own concerts all over the world.

In contrast to the other groups performing in Songs of the Soul, the group performs Sri Chinmoy's songs without instruments and with little or no arrangement. There is a simplicity and silence to their performance which brings to mind Gregorian chanting, albeit sung by female soprano singers.

In 2000, the group broke the Guinness world Record for the longest time spent singing by a group by singing for over 22 hours non-stop.
